Cheeburger Cheeburger Challenge!

Last week, Bruce Chick gave the PC guys a challenge in order to drop a quiz in class. Each person had to eat Cheeburger Cheeburger's 'famous pounder' which is actually a huge 20 ounces (1.25 lbs)! (Can you imagine eating that much beef in one sitting?! I love red meat and all, but...ugh. I don't think I would be able to finish one of those!) Walt finished 3rd. Go babe! Josh Blount, the guy holding the burger, finished in 1st place. The entire class made it on the wall-of-fame! The picture is horrible quality but that's what the lady at Cheeburger gave me.

PC in DC

The Pastors College students and their families went to DC on Saturday. Steve, our tour guide and generous host, took us for a tour of the National Mall and out to lunch at Union Station. It was such a blessed day to be with all of the other families and learning cool facts about the monuments and memorials.

Before the tour even began, we noticed a Pentagon helicopter hovering over Arlington National Cemetery. Steve said it was doing 1 of 2 things- either looking for snipers because the president was about to fly in or a dignitary was given a tour. His guess was the president was about to fly in because the helicopter was so patiently hovering over the area. So interesting!

In other news, we'll be traveling to Charleston, SC this weekend for Jeff's wedding and we are so excited about it!! Walt and Jeff have been long time friends since they were very young and Walt is honored to stand as a groomsman in his wedding as he ties the knot with Katie.

In Awe of God's Creation

As you can see, West Virginia in the fall is so breathtaking. These pictures don't do the real thing justice either. Chris and Diem, I thought of you guys as we drove up the mountain because you would absolutely love it up here. I recommend it for your camping vacation next fall. We were constantly in awe of God's majesty and marveled at His beautiful creation! Simply amazing! My favorite part about our weekend getaway was that I experienced it all with my babe. We absolutely loved every minute of it and so thankful for the Teter family for their warm hospitality! And to top it off, we got to hear our senior pastor from home preach at Living Faith Church. Oh the memories made!

A Taste of Tennessee II

Some of our dearest friends, the Robinsons and Meffords came to visit us last weekend and it was such a sweet time with them. Late night talks, the Metro, walking in DC, the National Mall, Old Ebbitt Grill (round 2) + good conversations & encouragements, Scattergories, CLC, Potbelly, malts & shakes with butter cookies=a very good time with great friends from home.

Thanks again for coming to visit us! We were so happy to see you and glad you came to hang with us!!

Alexandrioni, what?!

It has come to our attention that people are wondering about 'Alexandrioni.' What is 'Alexandrioni'? 'Alexandrioni' is simply the Italian version of our last name. We made it up one night after watching a movie because we wanted to be Italian. We enjoy learning about the history of the American and Italian mafia, so we decided to try and make our name Italian. Oh and it's pronounced as 'alexan-dree-oh-knee'. :)

Walt's parents visited us last weekend and we really enjoyed our time with them. It was filled with good food, good talks and lots of walking. Here is a little glimpse of our trip:

The National Air and Space Museum by Washington Dulles Airport was really cool because it had thousands of aviation and space artifacts including the Enola Gay (the plane that carried the 1st atomic bomb on the attack of Hiroshima in WWII).

In other news, Walt is taking Homiletics 1 with Jeff Purswell this week. Next week, Gary Ricucci will teach on Marriage. AND this weekend, some of our dearest friends from home will be visiting us. Walt surprised me and just told me about it last night. We look fwd to chillin' with the Robinsons and Meffords!!
