Cousin Roger

Walt's cousin, Roger, came to visit us for a couple of days after we returned from our holiday break. We had a blast dining together, watching Valkyrie, and hearing stories about his experiences in England. Rodge, it was so great having you here with us.

Bringing in the New Year!

For the last 3 years, we have traveled to Highlands, NC to celebrate and bring in the new year with friends. This year, as always, the Robinsons joined us and we had a great time!

We always play Scrabble after eating our New Year's Eve dinner.

We went on a New Year's Day hike. This year we chose a supposedly 'easy' hike- we found out that it really wasn't that easy and pretty steep... Here we are finally at the top of the mountain!On our way up the mountain, we discovered these ice crystals on the ground that pushed their way out of the dirt. It was so bizarre and really cool to see.

I'd like to start a tradition by taking a picture next to our Christmas tree each year. This picture was taken the night before we left MD to go home for the holidays. Isn't our little Charlie Brown Christmas tree so cute?! It makes me laugh because the big bulbs make the tree appear even smaller.

We've been in SC for a week, this weekend we'll head to TN for a couple of days, then we're off to the mountains in NC to celebrate the new year and to rest and relax. It has been a great break thus far and we're looking forward to the rest of it.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree!

On Friday night, we hopped on the Metro to DC with some of our CG friends for dinner at Chef Geoff's then to see the National Christmas Tree.
It was bitterly cold out, but so worth it!

The tree came from Western Montana and stood at 73 feet tall.

Saturday: our first snow!

Here I am at a Christmas Tea hosted by the PC Admin Team. They blessed us so much through the delicious food, beautiful tables, and fun game.
I had a blast with these ladies at my table! The ladies I get to experience this year with! On Sunday, Walt planned a surprise for me. He got tickets for us to hear Handel's Messiah at Washington National Cathedral! I was so surprised and loved every minute of it. It was so neat to hear about Jesus' life in song. The majestic structure was so beautiful to look at. Being in there made me feel like we were in another country.

Afterwards, he took me to eat one of my all-time favorite foods - pizza - at Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown. He was so thoughtful to take me out in the midst of his heavy schedule! Thanks Walt for blessing me on Sunday!

PC Gym Time

Every Thursday the PC wives and their children get together for gym time. It is a special time because the kids get to play, the moms get to visit, and at the end the dads come up to visit us on their break. It's always so nice to see my babe!

The family I nanny for lets me bring the 2 youngest kiddos to gym time.
This is Ransom. He is 2 1/2 years old.
He is a joy to be around and cracks me up all the time!
We think he resembles Chris Farley...hilarious!
Here is Walt playing catch with Ransom's younger brother, Everett. He is so sweet and cuddly. He is a chunker too! At 15 months old, he weighs in at nearly 30 lbs.I love these little boys so much. I am so thankful I get to spend time with them every week!
