Summer Fun!

I know it has been awhile since I last posted (3 months ago...yikes!). Needless to say, we have been very busy with a full schedule since our return home. I can't believe autumn is already here! Enjoy some of our summertime memories!

Meeting Maddie. She is so sweet and I loved getting to meet her and hold her. Her mom and I have been dear friends since 8th grade.
Meeting Gavin was so fun too! I'm sorry to say that I don't have a picture of that cute chunker!

Homeowners! We bought a house and have been renovating the living, dining, and kitchen areas. This picture was taken at the front door. The living room is to the right of the closet, the dining room is to the left, and the kitchen is on the other side of the dining room. Can you picture how boxey it is?
Not anymore!! We didn't like the separation, so we demolished the wall and closet! This picture was also taken from the front door. You can see in the ceiling where the wall and closet used to be. Boy, am I glad we opened it up! It looks and feels so much better now! Walt is hard at work installing the recessed lighting. (These pictures are from awhile back. So these rooms look very different now! I need to take updated pictures.)

Wow, it was so gorgeous. I miss that beautiful blue water!

First time snorkeling for us and it was fabulous!! We didn't go just once but twice!! And both times were awesome. Seeing God's creation underwater was simply wonderful.

Long overdue!

Wow, I know it has been awhile since I last posted. Let's go back to graduation. Graduation weekend was so wonderful! We had our families in town and celebrated with good food and good times. Congratulations, Walt! You did so well in school this year and worked very hard. I am so proud of you!

Thank you Me, Ba, Robert, Jeanie, McAuley, Kara, Chris, and Kent for coming and making the weekend so special! It was wonderful to have you all there celebrating with us!

There are a lot of things that I miss about living in Maryland and the DC area, but one thing is for sure. I don't miss the Capital Beltway traffic. We arrived there in traffic and left there in traffic.

Last day of school!

Yes! Today was Walt's last day of school. It's so hard to believe that he's done now and graduating on Sunday. It seems like yesterday that we just arrived here in MD. What will we be doing until we move? Finish packing, cleaning, going to the end of the year dinner, dining with the Lees, attending Ransom's 3rd birthday party, spending time with our families when they come in this weekend, and graduation festivities. Then it's home sweet home to TN, house hunting, and going on vacation!

Winding down...

My, how the time has flown! As you can imagine, things around here are quite busy. Walt is rounding third base and finishing up his studies. I am collecting boxes and packing. We only have 2 more weeks until Walt graduates and we make the trek back to TN! We are so thrilled yet so sad. Thrilled to go back home and be near our family and friends again and at the same time sad to leave our friends we've made here. It has truly been a wonderful year for us. We've loved our experience here and will miss living in this area. But, we are certainly looking forward to our next season! Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately:

Corby graduated from the US Naval Academy and gave us a tour of the campus and town. It was a beautiful and quaint seaside town.

Our friends, the Altrogges, asked us to babysit their little girl while they went on a getaway. It was so much fun and so easy to care for her. Don't you just want to squeeze those sweet cheeks?! I'm going to miss her. Especially hearing her say, "Oh yes" and singing Amazing Grace.
